A Growing Number of Voters Get It
In a recent article released by Rasmussen Reports, “Voters feel far more strongly than they have in over two years that legislation currently being debated in Congress would have a significant impact on their lives”. In fact 74% share that view, up from only 52% in June of 2008.
The article is packed with a number of really informative facts that support the notion that Americans are paying more attention to their elected officials, and demanding proper representation. I would strongly encourage you to read the entire article, found at Rasmussen Reports.
All I can say about that is – Its about time!!! Its about time that “We the People” woke up and started paying attention to what’s going on in Washington. Most of the current stir is about Healthcare Reform, but I hope that we don’t fall back asleep after this particular issue goes away.
It is absolutely imperative that we hold our public servants(I use that term loosely) accountable for the decisions that they make while representing us. It is equally important to be informed on local matters as well. Whether City or County Council, local School Boards, State Legislatures, we have to be heard.
