The Greater North Augusta Chamber of Commerce works closely with other Chambers, businesses, and the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce to develop a Legislative Agenda that the SC Chamber uses in its educational efforts with the South Carolina General Assembly. Our Chamber has adopted the SC Chamber as its own.
South Carolinians depend on the state’s ability to attract well paying businesses to our borders. In order to compete in the global marketplace today and lay the groundwork for future generations, South Carolina needs to deal with the following issues:
- Develop a highly skilled workforce to retain and attract new jobs
- Pursue comprehensive tax reform
- Ensure that affordable healthcare is an option for all
- Pass meaningful immigration reform at the state level
- Invest in roads and bridges
- Expand South Carolina’s Ports
- Support environmental and energy policies that promote sustainability and economic development
- Create a more successful statewide tourism industry
