The Winter Exhibit (M)
The Arts and Heritage Center of North Augusta (AHC) is proud to present "The Winter Exhibit", featuring the artwork of Luke Andrews and Wesley L. Stewart in our Main Gallery and Darlene Williams is in our Balcony Gallery. There will be an opening reception on Thursday, January 19th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., open to the public. Luke Andrews An award winning photographer and painter born in Leesburg, FL, Luke grew up in North Augusta. He has travelled extensively, lived in Italy for many years and now has galleries in Central Florida and Savannah, Georgia. A graduate of USC in Media Arts, Luke has had many shows in Italy and the US. Best know for his vibrant cityscapes and landscapes, Luke's medium of choice is acrylic paint on canvas. Luke's landscapes are reminiscent of Van Gogh - but often with a modern twist. Building are skewed, the colors are vibrant and light is a significant characteristic. Wesley L. Stewart Born and raised in Augusta, GA, Wesley began experimenting with sculpture and metalwork while working in his family business Stewart Sheet Metal. He is a graduate of Augusta State University with a BA in Fine Arts as well as a MFA from Georgia Southern with an emphasis in sculpture. His public sculptures can be found on the campus of University of North Georgia, Dahlonega and in the downtown areas of Lakeland and Kissimee Florida as well as throughout downtown Augusta. His work contrasts energy, scale, volume and perception of sculpture. Darlene Williams Darlene's work specializes in the abstract, adding texture to create energy and interest. An Augusta, GA native, Darlene encourages your imagination using the colors, designs, imaginative subjects and beautiful objects that she surrounded by. Each abstract work can be inerpreted differently by the viewer to enter the state that she has created. The collection of paintings that Darlene is bringing all have a dream-like feel and show an artist full of imagination.
