EDUCATION
North Augusta has three elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school to serve its residents. To enroll in kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 of the applicable school year, or have already been attending a public school kindergarten in another state with a different attendance age requirement. Students will be allowed to enter the first grade if they are 6 years old on or before Sept. 1, have already begun a first grade program in another state that has a different age requirement, or if they have attended a public school kindergarten program for one full year.

Residents and visitors of all ages enjoy one of the City of North Augusta’s finest amenities in the wide array of recreational activities and services available. With numerous public parks, a state-of-the-art Activities Center and a broad spectrum of athletic programs, classes and camps, North Augusta is truly a center for recreation.

TAXES
Sales tax in South Carolina is five percent. Personal income tax in South Carolina ranges from three to seven percent, based on net income. Property taxes are levied on real estate, automobiles, boats, trailers and airplanes. City residents pay both city and county taxes. Tax notices for automobiles, boats and trailers are mailed in January and are due in May.

Water
The city of North Augusta furnishes water, sanitary sewer and waste collection to residents within the city service area. The city has an agreement with the Edgefield County Water & Sewer Authority to provide water in the outlying areas of North Augusta.

VOTER REGISTRATION
Residents who are at least 18 years old may register to vote in person at the Voter Registration Office or by mailing in an application obtained from the post office. To register in person, you will be required to have a picture ID with your current address.
