The Results Are In

Several weeks ago, we issued our first member survey asking members to identify areas of weakness in their businesses.  The purpose of the survey was to offer direction to our Professional Development Committee.  One of the priorities of the North Augusta Chamber of Commerce is to serve as a resource that allow our members the opportunity to grow into better business people.

In many cases, small businesses start with one or two people with a specific skill set, and this skill set does not translate into a fundamental understanding of how to run a business.  A great plumber isn’t always a great marketing person.  A great computer repair person may not have the background to properly manage cash flow. Our goal is to provide a resource for small business people to learn from other members.

The results show that our members have a tremendous need help designing an ad, and determining the best place for an ad.  Our members also expressed a need for help with planning and time management, as well as, customer service and general people skills.

The idea of members coming together and learning from one another is a core principle for the North Augusta Chamber of Commerce.

There is strength in numbers, whether that is through professional development resources, cost saving partnerships or political advocacy
